Au matin… ils étaient encore debout !

Comme prévu, une délégation du Syndicat de Bâtiment, est montée au Mur des Fédérés, pour commémorer, à sa manière le 135ème anniversaire de la Commune de Paris.

Dans un moment ou les manifestants de « Nuit debout » rebaptisent la « Place de la République » en « Place de la Commune », il nous semblait important de rappeler la date du 16 avril 1871 et les valeurs coopératives et autogestionnaires dont la Commune s’est, en cette date, voulue porteuse.

Notre délégation, tout autant par sa composition que par ses allocutions (celle de notre syndicat comme celle de nos camarades polonais), a aussi rappelé la véritable place des internationalistes au sein de la Commune de Paris comme celles de nos camarades étrangers encore aujourd’hui présents et actifs dans le mouvement social.

Le Syndicat du Bâtiment espère vous retrouver l’an prochain (Dimanche 16 avril 2017 – 10H30 - Entrée principale du cimetière du père Lachaise), pour une nouvelle commémoration.

Dear Comrades, Fellow Unionists and Social Activists,

Today, April the 16th, we are celebrating the 145th anniversary of the working class raising their heads, their fists and risking their life in order to achieve their control over the means of production and making the principles of Equality and self-governance a reality. As it were not only the French who took part in these historic events (various nationalities including the Poles and other Central and Eastern Europeans could be found among the Communards), we find it our duty to pass the international solidarity from Poland and to assure everyone that it is the cooperation and unity of the working class world-wide that can maintain the ideas and the goals similar to those of the Communards in 1871.

We are struggling with the same problems and often face the same international companies that exploit their workers in France, in Poland and many other places in Europe and beyond. The political and economic elites are using various strategies to divide us. The recent rise of nationalism and xenophobic attitudes in Europe can be a good example of that. Nevertheless, we should stay strong in our Solidarity beyond the borders of states, nations and other obstacles to unity. Against exploitation, precarious work and living conditions, against false divides.
